On April 13th we released the first live video of DeWolff’s long awaited double live album “LIVE & OUTTA SIGHT” (watch the first song “Satilla No. 3” here!). Today we are having the great honour to release part II of their stunning rock ‘n’ roll show at Amsterdam’s Melkweg: ”(Ain’t Nothing Wrong With) A Little Bit Of Loving“! Be sure that you don’t miss Luka’s drum solo! A snippet of the video appeared on national TV on DWDD last night, where deWolff kidnapped the studio for 9:27 minutes!

In the 8 years since the magical birth of DeWolff they have released 5 studio albums, got their own documentary and claimed an own signature Harley-Davidson as merchandise. But they have never released a proper full-length live album. Everyone who has ever seen a DeWolff live concert knows this is something else. And there’s more: the first 666 LP’s are pressed on super-limited blue and red swirl vinyl. This is to celebrate the first release on their very own record label Electrosaurus Records: a new shelter for all their upcoming grooviness, but also all kinds of other musical gems that DeWolff really digs!

Pre-order the album at Suburban Records; LP here, CD there!

You asked for it and DeWolff is more than willing to give it to you: on April 24th they proudly present their long awaited first double live album “LIVE & OUTTA SIGHT“. We recorded 2 songs of the album in Amsterdam’s Melkweg. The first one is “Satilla No. 3“!

I still remember the day that Pablo van de Poel told me about a “magical first jam” with Robin Piso and his brother Luka. Back in the days while we served our sentences at a boring secondary school in the deep south of the country (oh yes, very south..). In the year 2007 they officially formed DeWolff and by now DeWolff has matured in to one of the Netherlands’ biggest live bands ever. They keep the spirit of the 60’s alive with high production records and a sense of play-like-it’s-the-last-show-you’ll-ever-play that can only rarely be witnessed onstage nowadays. Luckily they’re also keepin’ up the good old shenanigans: they are still there! (and here and there!)

This is to celebrate the first release on their very own record label Electrosaurus Records: a new shelter for all their upcoming grooviness, but also all kinds of other musical gems that DeWolff really digs! Last year we visited the small basement studio for a session with our friends of the upcoming avant-garde group Faut Haut:

In 2014 we became partners with Popronde, the biggest travelling festival of Holland: 130 bands performing in 31 cities. One of the greatest milestones to take for upcoming bands on their road to fortune and fame. We joined the tour and picked 4 artists in 4 different cities for an intimate live session. Episode #4: Yuko Yuko in Ahoy.

Nostalgic 80′s new wave, sixties, flying carpets, California sunset, noise, Mac DeMarco, lo fi music videos, a label in Mexico… Yuko Yuko is really one of the biggest surprises of the Dutch underground this year. The man behind the new Dutch cult movement from Friesland is the nineteen-year-old Elias Elgersma. He already has a big catalog of records and music videos which, by no accident, are all recorded on old fashioned tape recorders. When we heard his EP ‘Cultlove’ we knew that Yuko Yuko would not be a one day fly (same story for Noisey). These guys always have a few unreleased records ready to share, so be aware!

When the Dutch media discovered them (after the Mexicans and the French did!), mister Yuko decided to form a 5 piece live-band. They really are one of a kind, and they are stylish as fuck. We met them at Ahoy in Rotterdam and recorded a sweet, relaxed live session in their dressing room. The song is a solo version of their latest single ‘When I cry, I’ll smile’. My tip for a good start of 2015?: drink until you forget you ever worked last year and dance your heart out to the dreamy sounds of Yuko Yuko.

$> Show Sum Cultlove <$

Today we bring you another stellar performance from our friends Yellow Grass. This track, ‘Holes in My Pocket‘, comes to you from mid way through their album launch at Bitterzoet.

Since its release, the bands debut album ‘More Than You Should Know‘ has proven to be a more than worthy mark on the underground music scene here in the Netherlands. As you can see, the band can seriously put on a good show too! Throughout the set they pulled the crowd back and forth through their styles of fun-loving rock and intimate americana. Their music truly encapsulates and controls your emotions, but don’t take our word for it, check it out yourselves!

And for those of you searching for more, Yellow Grass has plenty of music to share with you all! To see their upcoming shows and to download their album, be sure to check out their website or their Bandcamp page. Enjoy!

Ever since The Rag Trade released their debut, self titled album, they’ve enjoyed success across much of the underground scene, as they rightly should. From the beginning we here at Stillman were particularly interested in one song; “No More Money“. The track was, to our delight, recently aired on 3FM as a “SuperTurboCrazyTopHit“… Whatever the fuck that is… Airplay, I guess?

But all jokes aside, it really is a superb track. So much so that we went down to Café Pakhuis Wilhelmina to video it for your viewing pleasure. We were treated to a bit of a change up for this one too, with drummer Mischa Porte taking lead vocals. This is just a taste of the brilliance of their music, so if you want to see them at their best, you should probably check them out alongside a bunch of other bands that we support at the great Grasnapolsky festival. A killer line up, at a killer venue. What more could you want? How about three days of it?

This is the third live video release of NO MILK TODAY! We kicked off the No Milk recordings with Black Box Red and Bernard Hering. Now we present to you one of the most rocking stoner bands you will be able to find in the Dutch underground: Brahm.

When we chose to feature Brahm in the summer of 2013, we did it with a reason. Their blues oriented rock and roll is timeless. Those who claim that modern rock and roll hasn’t got an ounce of originality in it are totally wrong. Like the German Void Fest stated: “whether a record was released in 1973 or 2013 is simply irrelevant”. We decided to support these rockers and kick-started them with a live video of Relic to Riot back in the days. Meanwhile, the band led by the flamboyant Bram van den Brekel is continuing their road to fortune and fame. Watch their brand new video of Face to Face live at NO MILK TODAY and you won’t know what hit you!

Check out the debut EP Relics for more heavy sounds of Brahm.

The time has come: the long awaited debut album of The Vagary has arrived! Of course there was a big release party to celebrate their first milestone on vinyl. And of course we were there to make a rockin’ live video! We went to the fully packed Bitterzoet to shoot the intimate track They Say She’s Still Asleep.

The dark indierock of The Vagary has been keeping music-loving Holland busy since 2011. It is one of the most talked about bands of today. Somewhat of an accomplishment because apart from several successful singles, of which Time Machine got the most airplay, we have had to wait quite some time for their first full album. Luckily their debut album named Salute underlines the band’s relevance. They have also shown to know how to make good music videos. The cocktail of catchy songs and their energetic performance on stage will not bore us any time soon!

The band is led by the charming Thijs Havens, who is the singer and musical brain behind this slick and stylish quartet. All songs on the debut album Salute are of his making. Oh wait, there is also a song from Rod Stewart on there; Young Turks, excellent pick!

Last thursday (September 4th) we presented CUT_‘s killer debut EP “Patterns” in a sold out OT301 in Amsterdam. The underground OT301 was filled with mysterious ground shaking tunes, gloomy visuals and.. champagne!

The night started with the extravagant Oraclez, an unknown upcoming act that has the guts to combine solid live percussion with experimental electronics. Someday you will be spacing on Oraclez, at night in a dark tent at Dour. After this warm-up, the big moment had arrived: the 1 hour long release show. Their brand new songs were performed brilliantly and the stylish performance of singer Belle even reminded me of Lykke Li. For the first time, the audience also got served a mindblowing dj improvisation intermezzo by Sebastiaan. They finished the show with a well timed climax by coming back in red shirts and black ties. It was time for “Papaoutai”. Again CUT_ surprised everbody… In case you’ve missed it, you can now watch a part of their show here, the performance of “Slowly”. You can listen the whole EP at Noisey or on 3voor12 Luisterpaal.

About CUT_
CUT_ was one of the first acts we have took under our wings at the beginning of 2014. By know, they are one of the fastest growing electronic acts of Holland. They released their first single and music video “Twisting and Turning” in February. Quickly followed by their very successful rendition of Stromae’s summer hit “Papaoutai”. From that moment on, CUT_ rapidly gained ground in the European underground scene. The music video of “Papaoutai” went viral in several European countries and quickly reached 1 million views on Youtube. Even mister Stromae himself shared the video. That they can do a great cover was just a premonition, the killer EP “Patterns’ proves the world that they definitly belong to the highest regions of the music world.
