CUT_’s sold out releaseparty: the aftermath

Last thursday (September 4th) we presented CUT_‘s killer debut EP “Patterns” in a sold out OT301 in Amsterdam. The underground OT301 was filled with mysterious ground shaking tunes, gloomy visuals and.. champagne!

The night started with the extravagant Oraclez, an unknown upcoming act that has the guts to combine solid live percussion with experimental electronics. Someday you will be spacing on Oraclez, at night in a dark tent at Dour. After this warm-up, the big moment had arrived: the 1 hour long release show. Their brand new songs were performed brilliantly and the stylish performance of singer Belle even reminded me of Lykke Li. For the first time, the audience also got served a mindblowing dj improvisation intermezzo by Sebastiaan. They finished the show with a well timed climax by coming back in red shirts and black ties. It was time for “Papaoutai”. Again CUT_ surprised everbody… In case you’ve missed it, you can now watch a part of their show here, the performance of “Slowly”. You can listen the whole EP at Noisey or on 3voor12 Luisterpaal.

About CUT_
CUT_ was one of the first acts we have took under our wings at the beginning of 2014. By know, they are one of the fastest growing electronic acts of Holland. They released their first single and music video “Twisting and Turning” in February. Quickly followed by their very successful rendition of Stromae’s summer hit “Papaoutai”. From that moment on, CUT_ rapidly gained ground in the European underground scene. The music video of “Papaoutai” went viral in several European countries and quickly reached 1 million views on Youtube. Even mister Stromae himself shared the video. That they can do a great cover was just a premonition, the killer EP “Patterns’ proves the world that they definitly belong to the highest regions of the music world.
